About Laura
Laura is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and her master’s degree in Psychology: Clinical/Community Mental Health from Western Illinois University.
Laura utilizes an eclectic therapeutic approach, seamlessly blending elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, art therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and client-centered therapy to provide comprehensive and tailored support for each client’s mental health and personal growth journey.
She has training in evidence-based modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These specialized modalities allow her to effectively address and process trauma-related issues, supporting clients in their journey toward healing and recovery.
Throughout her career, she has worked extensively with individuals of all age groups, addressing a wide range of psychological disorders and needs including anxiety, depression, stress management, trauma, psychosis, neurodivergence, and anger management.
Whether facing trauma, navigating life transitions, or seeking personal growth, clients can rely on Laura to provide compassionate guidance and evidence-based interventions tailored to their unique needs.
Outside of her clinical work, Laura enjoys activities including reading, traveling, exploring nature with her canine companions, and immersing herself in the tranquility of kayaking.
